This week we’ve been assaulted by an assortment of typically weird, but atypically risky, pronouncements from Donald Trump:
- The threatened tariffs on Canada
- The decision to scale back military exercises with South Korea
- The new attempts to bully Iran with “D-Day” sanctions
To name a few
We can parse each to explain why of these things are ridiculously bad ideas, but let’s cut to the chase: Trump is lashing out manically in an attempt to gratify his characteristic need to dominate every environment he finds himself in.
The bottom line is he’s a control freak who knows he’s losing control (over things he never should have been allowed to control), and is on the verge of irreparably damaging the country, and harming the world at large — including most of our historically loyal allies.
He is acutely mentally unsound and should be removed from office.
I don’t particularly want to put the blame on those who voted for him (more on that some other time), but those Republican elected officials who explicitly swore to uphold the Constitution, and have not exercised their power to do so, are responsible and must be made to answer for this horrifying state of affairs.
